Clearing your browsing data in Kahf Browser helps protect your privacy and can fix some loading or performance issues. This article explains what you can clear and how it affects your browsing.
For a general overview of Kahf, see Kahf Browser.
What counts as browsing data?
Kahf Browser can store several types of data while you use the web:
- Browsing history – The list of sites and pages you visited.
- Cookies and other site data – Data that sites use to remember you (logins, preferences, shopping carts).
- Cached images and files – Copies of images, scripts, and other files stored to make pages load faster.
- Saved passwords and autofill data – Login details, addresses, and other form data you choose to save.
- Download history – A record of files you downloaded (not the files themselves).
You can choose which of these to remove when clearing browsing data, depending on why you are clearing it.
How to open Clear Browsing Data
Steps may vary a little by platform, but the path is similar:
- Open Kahf Browser.
- Open the menu (three dots or a similar icon).
- Go to Settings.
- Open Privacy, Security & Safety.
- Click Clear browsing data.
If you are not sure where Privacy settings are, start from the main Kahf Browser docs and open the Privacy, Security & Safety section.
Choosing a time range
In the Clear browsing data dialog, select a time range such as:
- Last hour
- Last 24 hours
- Last 7 days
- Last 4 weeks
- All time
Use a shorter range when you want to fix a recent issue on a specific site, and All time when you want a fresh start on that device.
What each option does
Common options include:
- Browsing history
- Deletes the list of sites visited from Kahf’s history.
- You may lose quick address bar suggestions for frequently visited pages.
- Cookies and other site data
- Signs you out of most websites.
- Clears site‑specific preferences, which can fix login or session problems.
- Cached images and files
- Removes stored copies of images, scripts, and styles.
- Pages may load a bit slower the first time after clearing, but old or broken content is refreshed.
- Saved passwords and autofill data (if shown)
- Deletes stored logins and form data.
- Only choose this if you intentionally want to remove sensitive data from this device.
For most users, clearing browsing history, cookies, and cached images and files is enough to resolve common issues.
When should you clear browsing data?
Clearing data is useful when:
- A website is not loading correctly or looks “stuck” on an old version.
- You experience repeated login or session errors.
- You use a shared device and want to remove traces of your activity.
- You want to quickly refresh how sites behave after changing privacy settings.
If you frequently clear data for privacy on shared devices, consider using Private Browsing Mode for sensitive sessions instead; see the upcoming Private Browsing Mode article in the same section.
Using private browsing instead
Private browsing helps reduce how much data is stored in the first place:
- Private windows usually do not save browsing history, cookies, or site data after you close them.
- Downloads and bookmarks you create in private windows can still be saved to your device.
Once available, you will find more details in Private Browsing Mode under Privacy, Security & Safety.
Important notes and limitations
- Clearing browsing data only affects Kahf Browser on this device; it does not remove data from other browsers.
- If you use sync in the future, behavior may depend on your sync settings (for example, clearing history might also remove it from other synced devices).
- Clearing cookies will sign you out of websites, so make sure you know your passwords or have them stored safely before clearing.
If clearing data does not solve the problem, check the Troubleshooting & Fixes section, including Pages Not Loading and Browser Running Slow, from the main Kahf Browser docs.
